Rationale
Why We Exist
PASAE Uganda was established in response to a growing need for a collective body that could represent, support, and advocate for agricultural engineering while promoting best practices and technological advancements to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability. The society plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between agricultural engineering research and practical application. By promoting innovative practices and fostering collaboration between engineers and other stakeholders, the society contributes significantly to addressing challenges such as inefficient water use, outdated mechanization practices, and climate change adaptation. The society’s work aligns with national development priorities, particularly in the pursuit of food security, economic growth, and sustainable resource management.
PASAE Uganda’s commitment to training, advocacy, and community outreach ensures that agricultural engineering practices not only enhance productivity but also promote environmental sustainability and resilience. With a strong emphasis on education and capacity building, PASAE Uganda continues to inspire and equip a new generation of agricultural engineers and professionals to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.
The association’s strategic partnerships with universities, governmental agencies, and international organizations bolster its influence and capacity to effect change. In doing so, PASAE Uganda aims to stimulate, promote and shape the education, research, policy, and practice of Agricultural Engineering in Uganda. In doing so, PASAE Uganda will contribute to national transformation of the agriculture and industrial sectors in the areas of applied research, technology development, production, productivity and value addition in Uganda. In addition, it shall enhance the application of science, technology, innovation, and engineering in the agricultural sector value chains.
